Country Music Festival Outfits We Love

Whether its Country Thunder, Watershed, Stage Coach, or even CMA Music Festival, you name it, country music is in the summer air! It doesn’t matter if you live and breathe country or Luke Bryan’s “Sorority Girl” is the only song on your country playlist, we all have a little room for some country. Former TSS Intern, Audree is not the author of her own blog Simply Audree Kate and she is the expert when it comes to country music festival outfits. Therefore, we asked her to give us a breakdown on the perfect pieces to snag for your next concert. Check out her suggestions below!

Outfit 1: American cowgirl outfit

Trade in your middle school jean skirt for a high-waisted acid-wash chambray skater skirt and pair it with a lace bustier or crop top. Accessorize with cute boots, a statement necklace, shades and headband.

Outfit 2: Rocker cowgirl outfit

Edgier modern outfits are a common theme in country music right now and are a great alternative for a casual look! Pair cut offs with a loose tank, cowboy hat, boots and chunky jewelry such as a cuff or a ring.

Outfit 3: Floral cowgirl outfit

My favorite country combination is a floral sundress, leather belt, and boots. Turquoise pairs nicely with every color so don’t be afraid to color block and mix prints!

For my hometown’s summer rodeo I made my outfit! I copied the skirt outline from one of my skirts, sewed the ends and added an elastic band and had a simple skater skirt in a few minutes. Next, I took 1 ½ yards or floral red fabric from a local fabric store and tied a giant bow as a bandeau on my chest. I tucked in the edges in the band and had a super cheap and cute bow bandeau!

Lace, floral and fringe are hot season trends and work perfectly for a country inspired outfit.

A Girl's Guide To Coachella

Coachella tickets go on sale today and we are so excited because Coachella is pretty much life-changing! If you're wondering if you should go, our answer is YES YES YES! Coachella is so popular that they've been having it go down over two weekends. Both weekends offer an awesome line up. This year we are looking forward to seeing The Weekend, Drake, Axwell, AC/DC and much more. It is going to be monumental. But, first things first, you've got to buy a ticket! Go to Coachella.com and sign up. Signing up will allow you to track your profile and the tickets you've bought. Here are some other helpful tips:

  • You will want to buy a ticket AND a shuttle pass.
  • For lodging, get a house! It is the most affordable and convenient.
  • Stay close to the fairgrounds--it's just more convenient.
  • Dress minimally, but tasteful. If you buy something from Urban Outfitters or Free People it will be super cute, but just keep in mind that most people will be shopping there.
  • Arrive at the fairgrounds at sun down--that is when most of the amazing artists go on and it's less hot.
  • Sandstorms are common so wear a bandana to protect your hair.
  • Carry cash.
  • Rent a walkie talkie; there is no cell phone reception.
  • Wear comfortable flats--like not even strappy flats because those eventually hurt.
  • The cab line is super far from the fairgrounds so if you decide to take it, be prepared to walk far.
  • Stay hydrated as you're basically in the desert and it's hot!
  • Wear sunblock to protect yourself from the sun.
  • Don't wait until the last minute to buy tickets!
Good luck and hopefully we will see you there!!

#Ready2Roo with Teva

*This is a Sponsored post written by The Sorority Secrets on behalf of Teva for SocialSpark. All opinions are 100% ours.

In February we shared with you the  Ultimate Music Festival Outfit Guide, but we left out one other important ensemble piece: Teva footwear!
Teva sells all sorts of footwear from sandals, to flip flops, to boots and much more for both men and women. Since 1984, Teva has been a brand for the go anywhere, do anything, "live life for the unscripted moments that make the best memories" type of person. Their brand is fit for those people who like to get out and have adventures. We love how versatile the styles are and how you can virtually cover and secure your entire foot, which is awesome for festivals since you're walking around a lot (and dancing of course!).

Speaking of festivals, Teva is the official footwear of the Bonnaroo Music Festival! We are seriously considering attending the festival this year, and if we do, we would rock the  Original Sandal  in a hot, bright color. We would even sport the Capri Wedge because it is super cute and stylish but still offers support.

Really, when it comes to festivals it's just all about these three important things:
  1. Staying comfortable
  2. Drinking lots of water
  3. Snapping pictures to capture the memories
It sounds like Teva can help with the "staying comfortable" part! What are your tips and tricks for festivalgoers? As an official sponsor of the Bonnaroo Music Festival, Teva is looking to help festivalgoers make the most of their time on The Farm by collecting tips and tricks from festival veterans. Whether it’s a tip to make sure you check out ‘The Jesus Tent’, to using an emergency blanket to keep your tent cool during the day, there are things that festivalgoers know that others could benefit from. These tips and tricks are being aggregated on Bonnaroo’s The Fountain, where people can go to get prepped for the experience of a lifetime. Share your tips below and be sure to hashtag it #Ready2Roo. While you're prepping for this festival and other festivals coming up, keep in mind that you can easily buy Teva sandals straight from Zappos

Music Festival Outfit Guide

The countdown to music festival season has begun! Whether it’s Coachella, Stagecoach, Outside Lands, or just an outdoor concert, music festivals are a great way to show off your style! This season, look out for floral, tribal prints, and crochet. Here are a few staple items to perfect your festival wardrobe:

1.     High Waisted Shorts: Sorry boys, but this trend is not going away anytime soon! High waisted shorts are the perfect way to add an edge to any outfit. Go for a classic jean, or try one of the floral or tribal prints that are big this year.

2.     Rompers: Rompers are the perfect way to enjoy a festival hassle-free! They’re easy to slip on, and unlike a dress, you can still dance without worrying about showing a little too much.

3.     Crop Tops: If just a bikini top is a little too revealing for you, pair a crop top with high-waisted shorts or a skater skirt to complete your outfit.

4.     Boots: although strappy sandals or a pair of Converse are a consistent trend at festivals, for those that can stand the heat, boots are a great addition! Try out a classic pair of combat boots this summer.

5.     Hats: add a little something to your outfit while protecting your skin, with a cute wide-brimmed or floppy hat!
