When To Use Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat

With so many social media outlets out there, it's pretty hard to keep up with all of them. We come from the Myspace and Facebook generation that it is amazing to see how far social media has come. We each have our favorite social media outlets and often use one more than the other. So, when is it right to use Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and Snapchat? Here's our rundown on when it's appropriate to use each:

Twitter: Have a random thought? Take it to Twitter. Twitter is for quick thoughts which correspond with short sentences. Essentially, you are giving your followers a glimpse into your mind and day-to-day in a few short characters.

Instagram: Have a cool picture moment in your day-to-day that you would like to highlight? Then, take it to Instagram. If you want to highlight 1-4 picture moments in your day then Instagram is the perfect social media outlet. Instagram is about photo sharing so applying hashtags and cool yet natural filters are the greatest way to get your photos gaining more visibility.

Facebook: Too long for Twitter? Not "cool" enough for Instagram? Facebook is your friend in this situation. Facebook is your journal; pictures, words, quotes, videos-they all belong on Facebook. Unlike Instagram where you can only post so much throughout the day before you're exhausting your audience, Facebook welcomes posts at any frequency.

Snapchat: Want to show your day-to-day in pictures and video form but you don't want it to stick around for too long? Then, Snapchat has you covered. Snapchat is a great way to show your friends and family what you're up to in that given moment. The footage does not stick around for longer than 24 hours so you feel like you're starting a whole new social media platform every day that you post to it. Very addicting!

If you're like us, many of our friends favor certain social media outlets more than others so you might find yourself on one or two more than the other. What's important is that if you're going to have multiple social media outlets, be sure to find a balance on maintaining them. Since you don't know which ones your friends are on more, keep each outlet exciting!

Make Writing Fun With BIC 4-Color Pen

*Disclosure: This post was sponsored by BIC 4 Color, however, all views and opinions are solely that of The Sorority Secrets.

Growing up, we were always fascinated with the pens that had multiple colors. Multiple colors meant multiple fun ways to write notes, draw, and stay organized. When we discovered that BIC had a 4 Inseparable Colors in 1 Pen, we couldn't wait to get our hands on one.

Just like we remembered, the BIC® 4-Color™ Pen has 4 colors that offer a fun and colorful way to express yourself on paper. Like we mentioned before, it allows for an easy way to outline writing or to organize thoughts through color-coding which is really important for us as Bloggers and women who have full time jobs. We plan out all of our blog posts and use the pen and it's 4 colors to distinguish between blog posts and work related tasks. It's like these 4 colors come with 4 distinct personalities! Therefore, when we are not using it to distinguish between blog posts and work related tasks, it serves as a way to express our moods and feelings. The video below does a good job of conveying what each color and mood represents!

It is fun to know that each color in the BIC® 4-Color™ Pen has a certain personality flair to it. The red color pen is very intelligent and self aware, while the green color pen is timid and goes with the flow. The blue color pen is a leader and knows how to take charge, while the black color pen is competitive and resilient. Given the situation and setting, we are a little bit of all the colors and that's what makes us so unique. What color best represents you?

So, where can you get the BIC® 4-Color™ Pen? You can find this pen at your local Staples or Staples.com and on Amazon! While you're at it, be sure to follow BIC's social media accounts on Facebook and Twitter.

Happy Writing!
