"Get the London look" takes a whole other tune when you shop their hundreds of fashion looks. Shipping is really efficient with this company and their items are pretty true to size.
  3. Brandy Melville - With 2.4 MILLION followers on Instagram, they're definitely one of the biggest affordable & adorable online boutiques!  They also have multiple store locations around the world and you can find Kylie & Kendall Jenner, Ariana Grande, and any other current teen sensations rocking Brandy Melville!  People love it for their cute, trendy, and casual style!

Sisters Succeeding: Sharon Bui, Frill Clothing Company

This 'Sisters Succeeding' post is big. Like, Shark Tank BIG.

North Carolina State University Chi Omega, Sharon Bui, partnered up with Kate Steadman to form Frill Clothing Company and now they are scheduled to appear on the television show, Shark Tank, on
March 6th at 9/8c on ABC!

Shark Tank is a reality television program, which allows aspiring entrepreneurs to make business pitches to a panel of investors. “We are delighted to appear on Shark Tank,” says co founder Sharon Bui, “this is huge for promoting our business and we can’t wait for America to see us pitch our pride and joy to the ‘shark’ investors.

Frill Clothing is a startup clothing company, located in Raleigh, NC. The thought of Frill was first conceived when Sharon Bui, a member of Greek Life at N.C. State University, realized there was no way of buying fashionable clothing she was required to wear for formal sorority recruitment. Bui then joined with Kate Steadman, who was studying advertising with a minor in fashion at Appalachian State, and Frill Clothing was born.

While Frill Clothing is primarily targeted to sorority women who are looking to purchase affordable, yet stylish, outfits for recruitment, there are other items available on their online boutique. Frill is branching out to sell items such as jewelry, home décor, apparel and various accessories.

Frill is also an important member of the bridal community. Their skirts can be purchased for bridal parties to put on a new fashion forward spin on bridesmaid’s dresses. The skirts are stylish, affordable, and can be worn on multiple occasions. Frill has outfitted many wedding parties and the bride, as well as, the bridesmaids have been extremely pleased with the end result.

Bui and Steadman launched Frill while both were still earning their degrees, which have required a lot of hard work, and learning how to be financially resourceful. “The past couple of years we have learned what it takes to be an entrepreneur,” said Steadman, “it requires dedication but we enjoy coming to work every morning so the hard work pays off!

Be sure to catch Frill’s episode of Shark Tank on ABC this week!

New Year's Eve Must-Have Manicures

1 | 2 | 3 | 4 | 5 | 6
We never need too much a reason to get our "nails did" so NYE is no exception! While it may be cliché, we are totally into the sparkly nails effect when it comes to our NYE manicures. You just can't go wrong adding a little sparkle with glitter nail polish like  Essie's "Sparkle On Top", Deborah Lippman's "Some Enchanted Evening", or gluing on rhinestones or crystal pieces. Another unique look that we have yet to try for a NYE manicure is the iridescent nail polish look. Showing luminous colors on your nails that seem to change when seen from different angles has a striking resemblance to the NYE disco ball! Keeping it simple with grays, whites, and nude/ivory nail colors are chic too. The latest craze however are still the nail strips! Incoco Nail Strips are really cute and come in tons of designs including ones where just the tips are colored to give that manicured look. However you get beautified for the New Year, make sure your nails are in check because

"Wearing chipped nail polish is like wearing dirty underwear. You just don't do it".-Morgan Stewart, RKOBH

Major Nordstrom Sale

[1][2][3][4]

As if Black Friday won't be enough this month, Nordstrom has a pretty awesome sale from now until November 11th that we will be taking advantage of. It's no surprise how much love we have for Nordstrom. Last year we had our one year anniversary party at TOPSHOP! Virtually every category of stuff is on sale including select women's clothing, shoes, handbags and accessories. Select items are up to 40% off right now too--mad steal! A bonus is that this sale is being offered BOTH online and in person! Double bonus: Free shipping online. We cannot wait to get our hands on some Sam Edelman boots. A new Rebecca Minkoff handbag wouldn't hurt either! Co Founder, Sakura, just moved so she will be checking out their bedding on sale--she's seeing some super cute stuff so far. We have included some of our favorite items from the sale above so feel free to shop our favorites.

Most importantly: Shop, shop, shop till you drop!

Fashion Friday: Independent Designers Runway Fashion Show

[1][2][3][4][5]

There is nothing like local fashion and Fashion Week is always a great time to explore the fashion that is in your city. Co Founder, Karen, had the pleasure of kicking off Bellevue Fashion Week by attending the Independent Designers Runway Fashion Show. IDRS has been going on for three years now and the point in the runway show is to showoff local designers and to award one lucky local fashion designer money to grow their business. The event was nothing short of amazing and each local designer stayed true to their style which was great to see on the runway. Karen saw mixes of spring and fall fashion pieces that she can't wait to add to her closet and show off this year and next. Karen absolutely loved LU. by Jenny Fort. LU. is very true to the Seattle earthy, grunge scene, but done in a trendy, absolutely wearable way. Karen's favorite piece from the LU. collection was this jumpsuit: super comfortable and high fashion at the same time. LU. ended up receiving second place in the runway show so kudos to Jenny Fort! Karen's second favorite local designer was Klad Apparel by Melanie Trygg. Karen loves fashion that makes sense, and every piece from Klad Apparel makes fashion sense. You can wear just about anything at any given part of the day and that's what makes Klad Apparel so appealing.

Check out more of Karen's favorite looks from the night above! For a full list of all the local Seattle/Bellevue designers click here.

Do you have any favorite local designers that we should know about? If so, then leave a comment below.

Special thanks to the Bellevue Collection; we can't wait to attend next year!

Styled From Summer to Fall

With the fall season right around the corner, we're getting super excited for a few of our favorite things... leggings, chunky knit sweaters, and pumpkin spice lattes.  But before we get ahead of ourselves, we're still enjoying the last few moments of summer!  That being said, now is a great time to start shopping for pieces that will carry you into fall.  Um, hello Nordstrom Anniversary Sale & end of season summer sales!  Here are a few key pieces that make an easy transition from now through October.

Jewel Tone Denim
We're loving these J. Brand jeans (on sale at Nordstrom until August 3rd!) in the pretty deep plum hue.  Wear them now with open toe shoes & your favorite tee or tank.  Wear them later with boots and a sweater or cardigan.  Deep colors are surprisingly versatile... try them out with floral print tops or chambray button downs too!

Short Floral Dress
A floral print mini dress in fall-friendly colors (this one also from Nordstrom is perfect, and 50% off) can shift from season to season.  Wear it now with flat sandals, add a denim vest if you want to mix it up.  Wear it come September with ankle booties, tights, and your favorite leather bomber jacket!

Striped Maxi Dress
Stripes are one of our favorite prints... they're in style year-round!  We like to give stripes a nautical feel in the summer months, and an edgier feel come cooler months.  This Vince maxi dress (on sale for 60% off) is a summer staple.  Once fall approaches, maxi dresses can still make a statement!  Think in layers, and your maxi dress transforms into a fabulous long skirt.  Add a long sleeve shirt (sweatshirt or sweater) on top of the dress.  An off shoulder shirt would be especially cute over the Vince dress, revealing the striped straps beneath!  Or, add a button down shirt (worn loose or tied at the waist-- in plaid if you feel daring).  Pair it with booties and a felt hat for an added touch!

Felt Floppy Hat
Speaking of felt hats, a floppy felt hat is a great accessory in both summer & in fall.  We love a simple felt hat (like this one by David & Young) to compliment any outfit.  Wear it now with flowy bohemian tops, and wear it later with just about anything!

Plaid Shirt
Tartan plaids are back for fall, in a big way.  Think classic & sophisticated when styling this year's plaid trend, instead of punk rock.  We love this slightly sheer chiffon plaid blouse from Forever 21.  Pair it with denim shorts or tucked in to a skater skirt for now, and wear it with jeans come fall.  You can even dress it up to turn it into business attire!

What are some of your favorite pieces to wear from summer to fall?  Share with us below!

Chic For Cheap: Fashion On A Budget

Shopping for quality pieces doesn't mean you need to break the bank.  Often times, it's all about knowing where to look-- and what little details to look for-- that make all the difference.  We're all for finding fabulous pieces at a great price!  Just because something was cheap, doesn't mean you look cheap.  Below, we've compiled our favorite tips for fashion on a budget!

Tip #1: No Labels.
You don't need designer items to look cool.  If something is trendy, buy it for cheap (it's not worth the investment, trust us).  If you're a label lover, save your splurge for something timeless that you will use for years to come.  There are plenty of stylish finds at a great price, and there's no need to overspend on a single item.

When shopping in budget-friendly stores, go with the "no label" rule of thumb.  Look for items without visible branding or labels on the outside.  Same goes for jeans... the less labels on pockets or by the belt loops, the better.  There are plenty of inexpensive jeans out there with no labels on them, that look a whole lot like their designer counterparts.  When it comes to a tee or tank, you can never go wrong with plain & simple.

A Big Don't: knockoff handbags.  Instead of faux, look for a beautiful no-name bag within your budget.  Go for real leather, clean lines, and you guessed it... as little branding on it as possible.  For vegan leather, it should look & feel like the real deal.  Nothing beats quality, and you'll be hard-pressed to find a quality knockoff.  A pretty mystery brand piece is much more stylish, and you'll have people asking "where did you get that?!"  You're creating your own trend!  We love the envelope clutch pictured above.

A Big Do: faux diamond stud earrings.  Go for a sparkly & modestly-sized pair; it's hard for the untrained eye to tell the difference.

Tip #2: The Details.
Ever notice a striped tee, and the stripes don't match up at the seam on the side?  It's those little details that make something either look "cheap" or luxurious.  Not all budget finds pay attention to these details, while many higher-end items do.

If you're buying something with a pattern on it, make sure that everything is in check.  Stripes & plaids should match up at the seams.  Floral patterns shouldn't have big gaps in the pattern in obvious areas (i.e. stomach or chest).  Also with floral patterns, make sure that the flowers are placed in flattering areas.  For example, two big flowers placed symmetrically on either side of your chest looks like, well... awkward!

The solution to this?  Look at what you're buying.  Inspect the side seams, notice the patterns.  Let's say you found a cute striped shirt, and you know that you want a size medium.  Look through all of the mediums on the clothing rack, and find one that looks like it's made the best!  We find many great patterned items at fast-fashion stores like Forever 21... and all it takes is a little careful inspection.

Speaking of seams, make sure they lay flat.  Seams and hemlines should not be bumpy, uneven, or poorly stitched.  Fabrics should feel substantial; not easily torn or snagged.  If the fabric looks like it will 'ball up' in the wash, chances are you're right.  Clothing should have longevity, and not be disposable.

Helpful hint: patterned items are best to be bought in person, and not online, so you can check for these details.

Tip #3: Where To Go.
Fear no store.  You can shop in any-- and we mean any-- store, and usually find something great.  You just need to know where to look, and how to stay true to your personal style.  That cheesy-feeling accessory store in the mall for example; it just might have a fabulous piece of costume jewelry!

We love everything from the sale rack at department stores, to haunts like T.J. Maxx and Marshall's.  Places like Forever 21 can't be beat for trendy items on the cheap.  There are also several stores that offer great coupons, such as Kohl's and Express.  Keep an eye out for pieces you need, and steer clear of anything that doesn't feel like "you".  Just because it's a good price, doesn't mean you need it.

A Big Don't: don't buy something just because it's on sale.  Buy something because you love it.  Even if it's on sale, you love it, but it doesn't fit... don't buy it.  You won't wear it, and you won't feel your best in it if you do.  You may find a name-brand pair of heels for 50% off.  But, they hurt and pinch your toes.  You'll feel (and look) much better by wearing those trusty ankle booties that you already have in your closet instead.

A Big Do: wait for the sale.  Drooling over a full-priced item?  Find out when it's going on sale, and check back later.

Tip #4: Make It Yours.
Often times it's not just about the pieces we buy; it's how we style them once we're wearing them that makes the difference.  Take a blouse from "cute" to "amazing" by adding some layered necklaces & tucking it in to great-fitting jeans.  Find little touches of your personal style to add into your outfits.

Go with your style.  Are you more into a preppy, J. Crew look?  Take that same blouse & jeans-- add a colorful statement necklace, a vintage baseball cap, chic leather flats, and a monogrammed tote bag.  Keep your personal style in mind when on the hunt at budget friendly shops.  No matter the price of an item, you'll always look like a million bucks when you make it your own!

Another style tip that will always make you feel fabulous: confidence.  And by the way, it's free!  So go forth-- rock that t-shirt and jeans with your head held high and a smile on your face.  Dress for yourself, your lifestyle, and what you feel best in!

Bananas for Banana Leaves

clockwise from top left: [1] [2] [3] [4] [5] [6] [7]
{photo sources: 1, 2, 3}

We have a pattern crush on banana leaves!  The classic design-- originating from the 1940's-- is having a trendy moment this summer, and it's prettier than ever.  The tropical print looks fresh on everything from phone cases, to stationery, to bikinis.  The bikini is a total steal, found at Target!  Co-Founder Ali couldn't wait to get her hands on the iPhone case, and even showed it off on our Instagram the other day.

Banana leaf prints look great when styled simply; pair it with black, white, or tan/nude shades.  Or, take inspiration from the iconic Beverly Hills Hotel (where the walls are decorated with wallpaper in the pattern), and pair your print with a shade of light pink!  You can also add a taste of the trend to your home, with pillows in the print from Kate Spade.

We're totally bananas for banana leaves.  What's your favorite print for summer?

Spring into Season with TSS {by, Audree}

Say ‘hasta la vista’ to your sweater and boots ladies because it’s springtime! Think bright, colorful, and of course floral.

When transitioning from winter to spring, balance out your outfits with cuffed pants and a light sweater or jean jacket. Colorful skinny jeans and skirts are a must-have for spring, so match them with a neutral top or be daring with a floral print. Springtime is also the perfect season for color blocking. To successfully color-block, pair complementary colors or colors that are in the same monochromatic family and keep your color-block balanced with neutral jewelry and shoes.

Outfit details: jean jacket: Levis | blouse: thrift | skinny jeans: H&M | sandals: Charlotte Russe | clutch: thrift

When spring comes around, I instantly think of tea parties, brunches and fun social events. A bright dress paired with wedges and a sun hat will be your go-to this season. A dress that cinches at your waist is flattering on all body types and a nude wedge is the most versatile shoe to have in your closet. Pair the outfit with simple jewelry and let your dress speak for itself!

Outfit details: dress: Ross | wedges: Steve Madden | cuff: H&M

Brighten up the season with bold colors and feminine prints! Shop your local mall or favorite online stores for key pieces for the season and remember, color is always in style.

Happy Spring!

TSS Co Founder's Interview: Karen

1. Where do you currently reside and what do you love most about it? "I live in sunny (just joking) Seattle and I love EVERYTHING about it. Seattle offers you everything from Starbucks to hipsters, to the mountains, water, city-life, and so much more. P.S. It doesn't rain as much as people claim…it honestly just sprinkles. No one uses their umbrella! Did I mention we have an amazing football team too? GO SEAHAWKS!"

2. Describe your closet. "Well, I have two closets because I am a shoe and clothes fanatic. My walk-in closets are filled with clothes that are all color coordinated and shoes for days. My style is so eclectic that you see everything from a leopard Forever 21 jumpsuit to sparkly Louboutin heels!"

3. What was your favorite part about being in a sorority? " I absolutely loved choreographing and performing dances for philanthropies. Our dance group (which included Co Founder, Sakura!) called ourselves The Thetawockeez--it was great!"

4. What did sorority life teach you that you applied in the real world? "Sorority life taught me to show people the greatest version of you. You want everyone, whether they are compatible with you or not, to fall in love with who you are. This is one of the biggest lessons that my sorority taught me that I have applied in every aspect of the real world".

5. What are 5 beauty products you can't live without? "Lipgloss (Victoria's Secret lipgloss will always be my fave but I have recently started using Smashbox Lipgloss and it is equally amazing), Bare Minerals Foundation powder, Lilly Lashes, MAC Comfort Creme, and my favorite sets of perfumes that I rotate (Angel by Thierry Muglier, Coco Mademoiselle by Chanel, Bright by Versace and La Vie Est Belle by Lancome)".

6. What do you love most about working on TSS? "I love seeing the reaction our readers have to our content. It is so inspiring to watch and hear how much our content improves lives!"

7. What is the best advice you were ever given? "Be careful how you treat people on your way up because you might meet them on your way down". Those are famous words from my mother and they couldn't be more true. Often times in life, people gain a level of success where they forget where they came from or how they got there and choose to mistreat those who were on their journey. Lack of humility and self-entittlement can really hinder your reputation with people who have known you so it's so important to remain humble and avoid burning bridges. After all, you never know, you might see these same people again and the tables could turn where you will need their help".

8. Who's your celebrity style crush? "My STYLIST crush ( I say Stylist crush because we all know celebrities do NOT dress themselves) is Monica Rose. She styles women like the Kardashians and Guiliana Rancic to name a few and I absolutely love every look she puts together. I would love to raid her closet!"

9. What are your top 3 stores you like to shop at? "This is a toughy but I would have to go with TOPSHOP, ZARA, and FOREVER 21. If I can sneak one more in I would say my favorite online store is ASOS".

10. What do you like to do on your day off? No days off here folks! Haha, just joking…sort of. On my day off I like to have friends over where we enjoy a glass of champagne and catch up on reality TV!

11. What else do you do for work? When I am not blogging, I am working full time in medical sales. I love working for a company that is essentially saving and improving lives!

12. What are your interests/passions? I absolutely LOVE party planning. It is my true passion and I really look up to party planners like Colin Cowie and Mindy Weiss. My specialty is candy buffets which I do here and there for my friends and people who reach out to me. I started documenting my parties and party advice here.

We Love Athleta

On Ali: Pants, Hoodie.  On Karen: Pants, Top.  All clothing c/o Athleta.

We don't know about you, but having cute new workout gear always motivates us to stay active.  We get super excited to hit the gym, pavement, or yoga studio when we have a fabulous outfit to rock while working up a sweat!  That being said, we were happy when we came across Athleta's stores in our area (yes, there's one by both our Scottsdale office & our Seattle office!) and we tried on their great workout gear!

On the top of our list?  Athleta's pant selection.  Not only are their pants comfy, but they have lots of style too.  Check out Ali's paisley print pants... we are obsessed!  We fell in love with their pants in fun patterns; they were also very flattering when we tried them on.  Fun, flattering, and functional!  Athleta's product is designed in-house for female athletes, by female athletes-- and it shows.

To complete the outfit, we also love Athleta's variety of tops and hoodies.  Ali's grey Batwing hoodie even has thumb holes... too cute!  Karen's vibrant purple space dye top pulls the whole outfit together with a pop of color, and fits her to perfection.  We love the space dye look for athletic gear!

To check out an Athleta store near you, click here.  Not only do they have stores in Seattle & Scottsdale, but they have locations all across the country... including Newport Beach, Los Angeles, and Santa Monica for our California girls!  Athleta is actually opening 60 stores by the end of 2013, across the US!  Of course, you can can shop 24/7 online too.  Thank you to our friends at Athleta for helping us put together this post-- we love our new workout gear!  Namaste.
